“FLS. Fundamentals of Life Safety” (FLS) is a peer-reviewed scientific, methodological and informational journal (ISSN 1998-0736), indexed in the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI).

Articles are independently reviewed with the involvement of leading experts, according to the results of which a decision is made on the publication of articles or the need for their revision, taking into account the comments of reviewers.

The magazine for 25 years is an educational, methodological and informational publication addressed to a wide range of pedagogical workers involved in education and upbringing, healthy lifestyle and career guidance, the formation of a culture of life safety and pre-conscription training, class teachers, primary school teachers and teachers-organizers of the FLS, heads of military-patriotic clubs, sections, circles “School of Safety”, “Young Rescuer”, “Young firefighter”, “Young Army man”, etc.. It publishes relevant regulations, pedagogical experience, lesson plans and materials on all types of safety, with an overview of practices. This is an important channel of professional communication in order to exchange experience, disseminate information about advanced scientific research and development, and improve the quality of the educational process.

Historical background.

In 1991, by a decree of the Council of Ministers of the RSFSR, a new course on the Basics of Life Safety, or, as it is abbreviated, FLS, was introduced in general educational institutions of Russia. However, the new subject was not provided with a material and technical base and teaching aids. The first years of teaching were conducted due to the creative initiative and enthusiasm of the first teachers of the subject.

In 1996, the magazine “FLS. Fundamentals of Life Safety”, whose task was to provide teachers and other specialists with information, program and methodological literature, as well as the necessary documents and recommendations of scientists and officials. On the pages of the magazine, readers also exchanged experiences, gave advice to colleagues and discussed the most pressing and complex issues of the educational field “Life Safety”.

In 2000, at the expanded board of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, the magazine was named one of the best educational periodicals in Russia. He received diplomas and commendations from the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Since 1999, the editorial board of the magazine “FLS. Fundamentals of life Safety” started the competition “Human Safety” and in the same year initiated the annual All-Russian conference on the problems of the development of the educational field “Life safety”. The first such conference was held already in 2000 at the Academy of Advanced Training and Professional Retraining of Educational Workers.

Since 2015, the journal has been published at the Department of Medicine and Life Safety of the Moscow Pedagogical State University.

The editorial board of the magazine FLS.Fundamentals of Life Safety cooperates with leading Russian universities, research institutes and other organizations dealing with life safety issues.

The mission of the magazine “FLS. Fundamentals of Life Security”:

  • creating conditions for communication of the theoretical and practical foundations of science and the methodology of the education system in order to ensure the national security of the Russian Federation;
  • maintaining a high scientific level of discussion about the theory and practice of the development of private humanities — life safety and security pedagogy, innovative methods of its cognition, by involving the most qualified experts and specialists in this process;
  • effective communication of the results of modern scientific and methodological research in the field of life safety to authorized employees of special services, employees of executive authorities and public organizations of the Russian Federation.

Strategic objectives of the journal:

  • promotion of current knowledge about life safety in the Russian Federation;
  • education of the Russian population in the culture of life safety;
  • improving the professional level of scientists and practitioners in the field of national security of Russia;
  • providing the pedagogical community of the Russian Federation with modern scientific, methodological and educational materials in the field of life safety;
    creation of a specialized communication territory for scientific communication of various areas of professional training in the field of life safety.

Subject of articles.

The main topics of the journal are scientific, methodological and popular scientific articles in a special subject area: pedagogy of life safety, as an actual scientific direction in pedagogy, a science that studies the patterns and features of the development of the biosocial essence and human experience in the field of life safety in dangerous and emergency situations.
